Update: Not real. TL;DR: Using Robinhood to get 3% yield on your cash, coming soon! Robinhood has expanded it’s capabilities to feature zero-commission stock, option, and cryptocurrency trading for it’s users. For that reason alone, it’s a pretty good deal. Now you can claim your spot on the wait-list to get in on a 3% yield account that seems to act like a savings account*.  Once you enter the Robinhood app, tap on the Cash Management tab (the “$” sign) to get on the waitlist! Happy Saving, TheJKW *One criticism about this has been whether these accounts will be FDIC-insured. Updates will be given as this unfolds. Either way, 3% back…

Credit Cards: The Wells Fargo Trifecta

TL;DR: Get all 3 Wells Fargo credit cards to enjoy higher cash back rates. We’ve already talked about the Wells Fargo Propel Card, which offered 3% back on restaurants, travel, Uber/Lyft, and streaming services. The Wells Fargo Cash Wise card is similar to the Citi Double Cash but only offers 1.5% cash back. But here’s the kicker. These points are all collected as Go Far Rewards, and with the Wells Fargo Visa Signature card you can redeem these points for 50% more value when redeemed for airfare. That means the Propel Card essentially gives 4.5% back on all those categories, and the Cash Wise card gives 2.25% back on everything…

Get Paid to Play Phone Games

TL;DR: You’re already playing phone games. Why not get paid for it with Coin Pop? Coin Pop is an app that recommends games to download and pays you by the minute to play them. For example, I downloaded Guns of Glory through the app and got over 36000 points an hour, which is worth about almost $4. While that’s not quite minimum wage, it’s pretty damn good for playing games. You can take these points and redeem them for various gift cards or credits (like Paypal or Amazon). The games are all pretty popular too: I saw Angry Birds and Candy Crush, as well as some other new and popular games…

    Uber Rewards: Freebird

    Saving: Emergency Funds

TL;DR: You need to save some cash for emergencies. So why not let that earn 2% or more for you instead of having it sit around? No matter how risk-loving you are, anyone in the right mind would agree you need to keep around at least some cash for emergencies. But how do you do that optimally? 2 steps: Determine how much you need to save, and then decide where to put that money. Determining how much to save: While this part is entirely up to you, I think a good rule of thumb is 6-12 months worth of your expenditure. So in case (knock on wood) you or your…

    Check out Drop!

TL;DR: The Drop rewards app is awesome, and probably the best app of its kind. The Drop Rewards app was mentioned in the starter guide but deserves a deeper dive. The main feature: You can select 5 brands to automatically earn around 1% back with. For example, I get rewarded with Uber, Lyft, Seamless, Target, and Starbucks. Then all you have to do is link a credit card and watch your rewards grow. This is in addition to any credit card or other cash back bonuses! On top of that, after every 5 times you’re rewarded points, you can “Supercharge” and play the Snake game to earn more bonus points (check…

    More Uber Credits

TL;DR: Get $1 back per ride for Uber through Samsung Pay. Remember that Samsung pay app we talked about earlier? Whenever you want to get an Uber, log into Uber through the Samsung Pay app to get $1 in cash back per ride. These credits add up with others and you can redeem it once you hit $5. So to recap: Uber rides now will get you $1 through Samsung Pay, $2 in Sears credit through Shop Your Way, and 2% back through your Uber Visa card. Not bad! Just make sure you get this in before the promotion ends mid-November. Happy Uber’ing, TheJKW
